There are a large range of detrimental gut bugs associated with unpleasant digestive symptoms. The screening process in the CDSA testing checks for approximately 200 bugs that may be opportunistic and dysbiotic bacteria, yeasts (including a range of candida), or parasites.
Some of these are classified as non-pathogens as they are commonly found and do not always cause symptoms. However, in others, the same bug is associated with symptoms and requires treatment. These bugs tend to respond well to herbal medicine followed up with the combined approach of generous amounts of probiotics, prebiotics and a diet that contains high fibre foods to feed and re-establish good gut flora.
Specific herbal medicine treatment is selected based on the inhibitor herbs listed in the CDSA report to be most effective. I use a different range of herbs known to weaken and treat these bugs. To prevent treatment resistance from developing, it is important to rotate the herbs used.
